01 — General
Understanding AirX
AirX is more than a tire pressure system. It turns tire pressure into an active tool for traction, control and drivability off-road.
AirX emerged from real expedition experience. While preparing to cross the Rub al Khali, it became clear that existing solutions for heavy expedition vehicles were too static, too slow or not practical enough. AirX Pioneer came from this problem: a system that makes tire pressure usable while driving.
Tire pressure affects traction, contact patch, rolling resistance, self-damping and material load. In deep sand, pressure is lowered to increase the contact patch. On hard tracks or roads, pressure is increased to protect tires and rims and make the vehicle more stable.
AirX is especially interesting for heavy expedition vehicles, off-road trucks, Unimog, Steyr 12M18, MAN, Mercedes, Iveco, long-distance travel vehicles and professional off-road applications. Specific suitability depends on vehicle, axle concept, tire size and installation situation.
In principle, AirX is modular. Depending on vehicle type, rims, tires and installation space, a solution may be possible. The focus, however, is clearly on heavy off-road and expedition vehicles where tire pressure plays a particularly important role.

AirX Pioneer & AirX Discovery
AirX offers two clear system worlds: AirX Pioneer for dynamic pressure control while driving and AirX Discovery as a modern stationary depot solution.
AirX Pioneer is the main AirX product. It enables tire pressure adjustment while driving, directly from the cockpit. The driver can react to changing terrain without getting out or interrupting the flow of travel.
Yes. AirX Pioneer was developed exactly for this. The system turns tire pressure into an active control variable while driving. The driver can react directly from the cockpit when terrain, speed or driving situation changes.
AirX Discovery is the stationary depot solution from AirX. It is intended for users who want to deflate or inflate tire pressure in a controlled way while stationary. Discovery is a robust, modern solution for classic pressure adjustment without control while driving.
AirX Pioneer controls tire pressure while driving. AirX Discovery works while stationary. Pioneer is developed for dynamic adjustment to changing terrain. Discovery is the right solution when fast, clean pressure control at a standstill is sufficient.
AirX Pioneer is the right choice if you regularly switch between different terrains and want to adjust tire pressure while driving. Pioneer is especially strong in sand, tracks, corrugations, changing loads and long expeditions.
AirX Discovery is ideal if you are looking for a robust solution for controlled deflation and inflation while stationary. It is suitable for users who want a modern depot solution but do not need dynamic control while driving.
03 — Systemarchitektur
Bedienung & Systemkomponenten
AirX is built as a modular system. Each component has a clear task - from cockpit operation to air routing at the wheel.
Operation is via AirX Touch, the central display in the cockpit. Pressure values, system states and functions are shown there. Depending on the configuration, the driver can intervene manually or use predefined pressure logics.
AirX Touch is the operating and display unit in the cab. Via the touchscreen, the driver controls the system, monitors current pressure values and sees system status at a glance. AirX Touch is the direct interface between driver and tire pressure control.
AirX Control is the central control and air management unit of the system. It is mounted in the vehicle frame and handles compressed air distribution to the axles as well as integration of the spare wheel as an additional air reservoir.
AirX Pulse refers to the AirX tire pressure sensors. The sensors provide real pressure data directly at the wheel. These values form the basis for monitoring, control and system logic.
AirX Nexus is the wheel-side connection unit. It connects the vehicle’s stationary air routing with the rotating wheel and enables air supply directly to the tire. AirX Nexus also serves as the mount for AirX Pulse sensors.
AirX Bridge describes robust air routing in the front axle area. It guides compressed air cleanly and protected to the wheel while accounting for steering movement, movement space and off-road loads.
The spare wheel has a large air volume that is already present in the vehicle. AirX can use this volume as an additional reservoir. This provides more air when inflating, improving system response and performance.
04 — Integration
Montage, Sicherheit & Zulassung
AirX is a professional technical system. Clean installation, correct integration and proper testing are decisive for function and reliability.
Yes, in many cases vehicle-specific adaptation is necessary. In particular, air routing, mounting positions, axle geometry and wheel connections must fit the respective vehicle. AirX is intended as a professional system for clean integration.
AirX should only be installed by technically experienced people or qualified specialist workshops. The system works with compressed air, sensors, electrical supply and components close to the wheel. Correct installation is essential for function, safety and reliability.
For an initial assessment, vehicle type, axle concept, tire size, rim design, usage profile and desired system are important. The more precise this information is, the better we can check which AirX configuration fits.
Approval depends on vehicle, country, installation type and specific system configuration. AirX is a vehicle-related technical system, so regulatory requirements must be considered individually. Technical evidence, inspections or registrations may be required for the respective market.
